Charity care and unpaid costs of government-sponsored programs
In 2008, St. Clare provided more than $2.5 million in charity care to low income families in the Montgomery County area. Approximately $11 million in the net costs of unreimbursed services were provided to Medicare, Medicaid and TRICARE patients. Although reimbursement from these government-sponsored programs continues to decrease, St. Clare is committed to providing health care services to all patients regardless of reimbursement or the patient’s ability to pay.

St. Clare Neighborhood Clinic
St. Clare Medical Center, sponsoring organization of the St. Clare Neighborhood Clinic, provided substantial funding for the clinic and its operating costs. The clinic, a non-profit organization established in 2000, offered affordable health care to the uninsured and Medicaid population in Montgomery County – people living at or below the poverty level.
